My Country India

My foreigner friend once asked me about India......

Is this a country of hilarious snake charmers
Or is this a country of suiciding farmers

Is this a country where at every office there is corruption
Or where there is communal clash eruption 

Is this a country ruled by goons
Or a poor country which is in need of some tycoons

Is this a country where there is female foeticide
Or  is  this a country where laws people don't abide

Is this a country where people believe in unscientific phobia
I know these are facts, so tell me - WHAT IS INDIA??

And I replied

India is more than a huge piece of land
India is god's own creation
India is a democracy
India is a nation

We Indians might be humble but we take people by surprise
India is the result of a million people's sacrifice

India is the cradle of human race
India is the country to discover water in space

Out of India's first President's salary by him only half was taken
& people who think India corrupted are clearly mistaken

India's literature has great depth
It elucidates moral values & modern concept

India is a country where even an actor is sent to jail after being tried
India is a country where justice is never denied

In terms of values, India is the richest in Universe
In terms of culture, India is diverse

India is a country where over 22 main languages are spoken
India is a country where marriages are rarely broken

India is a country with 9 religions 
Yet everyone has equal right in making decisions

United we stand even with our diverse tradition 
We are Indians, the citizens of a great nation

Indian soldiers can overcome any obstacle, even if the weather is stormy
India has the world's third largest army

India has never attacked any country first
But in a war, with enemy's blood our soldiers quench their thirst

We greet everyone with folded hands even when the the third largest army is Indian
Because we believe that god resides in the heart of every human

Indians have conquered every field 
They do their best & provide the best yield

India is a country not run by goons
India has elections which has many boons

Ever person has promises & motives
India is where people elect their own representatives

India  is no more a place where farmers are doomed
With government assistance agriculture has boomed

India now has facilities agriculture no longer depends on rain
India is a country who can self-sustain

We Indians are proud of our history
But the exact trace of our diversity still remains a mystery

India is a place where
There is freedom of expression
India is more than a piece of land
India is a nation

Indians live in harmony
Where every needy person gets a helping hand
THAT'S WHAT IS INDIA
India is my motherland

We believe in god as a higher power
Not as an unscientific phobia
I was proud, am proud & will be proud
That I am from INDIA
